Also I know that there is the Magnaflow exhaust system out and in my view it is extremely over priced. I was thinking of make the G8 GT exhaust system into a X-Pipe with costum tubing and changing the mufflers to Twister Performance Exhaust Mufflers and keep the stock tips and everything else to keep it as a sleeper.

 

Another VCM OTR fan! On a LSX Caprice I have the Roto-Fab. Both are excellent.

I replaced my New Era with a VCM.... LETS JUST SAY...YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR..

I just bought on '08 G8 GT two days away. It has 64,000 mi. I love it and I am also trying to choose an intake for it. I was at a ford place and saw the GT500 pony. they had the hood raised on it and the intake on it looked like the roto style. I'm not sure yet but I am leaning towards getting the same (Roto) as it looks good under the hood and from what I have read it performs too. but the first thing i want to get done is a dyno test so I can see it there is a real gain or not. I dont know the hp of my car right now but i can say it will fly. very fun car. looking forward to the upgrades.

 

They are all nice, but I feel the rotofab is easier to tune for all conditions.

I'm gunna go afe with pro dry filter. I can get it for 228 w/ free shipping on autoanything.com with coupon 15retail. Once it gets here I am going to pandp tb too. Then the next thing.is hfc's and lt's. That's about as far as im gunna take my gt. (already have slp loudmouth axle back)

 

Injen will have an intake shortly for the GT. My car is down at Injen right now. They are using it to build the intake off of. They said it will be somewhat like the one they are building for the new Camaro's. Adrian emailed me the other day and said my car was doing about 302 HP at the rear tires. He did not tell me what the car did stock. I am picking the car up Monday afternoon the 28th. I will get the dyno print outs then and post them up and let you guys know what I think. We have installed a few of the Injen intakes on Honda and they do pretty well.

 

I have been looking at the vcm-performance OtrCai - looks great and is apparently better performing than others tested.

The VCM is probably the most expensive option out there, but I love mine! Even without the corresponding tune (yet) I saw a 2 tenths improvement in ET in my M6 GXP. The quality, fit, and finess are top notch, and installation wasn't too tough.

 

I have an SLP intake, great piece.

I bought a second one to modify for a project but never got around to it - so it is new in the box if anyone is interested!

Magnaflow no doubt. Its exhaust parts sounds better than the other. It runs like a beast and it gives the car the best performance at all speeds.

 

Testing has proven Vararam makes the most HP and gets better gas mileage as well. Track testing shows at least .1 better then other OTRs and a minimum of 1 mph too.

 

no one is really shouting out a definite CAI that is the be all must get... so i hear about the vara, roto, and K&N... in a comparison which is the best to get?? and also can you open the vents on the hood or is there a kit for this, and will water get to the intake from this

 

this one is affordable, doesn't require a mafless tune, does indeed make a difference, and under acceleration....... sounds EXCELLENT!!

when is k&N coming out with theres i just bought one and started looking at mods

 

I have the Kooks rear mufflers only and it sounds great.

 

Has anyone installed the Vararam or the New-Era OTR on their car? Both are radiator front mount intakes but I am looking at what is going to bring in the most air and of course add the most power.

Has anybody had any experience with a "Kooks" exhaust. Saw one on Youtube last night and it sounds awsome!

Also does the aftermarket intake disable your cylinder deactivation?

 

I had the Kooks X-pipe system installed on my 1967 GTO with the "lower-volume" exhaust. It sounds great.

Just bought a new G8 GXP, but have not messed with it.
