Cadillac has revealed the first photo of its new entry-level ATS model, which was designed to take on the BMW 3 Series. With the CTS having grown in size to more of a 5 Series rival, the ATS is expected to become the volume seller for Cadillac and help grow the brand considerably.

No details were provided, however, Cadillac has also confirmed the production of the XTS flagship sedan, which will be built at the company's Oshawa Assembly Plant in Ontario, Canada.

The ATS will be rear-wheel drive and is expected to be powered by a turbocharged 4-cylinder engines with a possible twin-turbo V6 optional. Inside, the ATS is likely to receive a new buttonless telematics system, similar to MyFord Touch.

“The Cadillac Renaissance that started with the CTS is still going strong,” said General Motors North America President Mark Reuss. “The XTS continues Cadillac’s heritage as the leader in large luxury cars while the car we’ve codenamed ATS starts a new chapter for Cadillac in the luxury market’s C-segment. We’re confident it will attract luxury car buyers who previously would not have considered Cadillac.”
