Has anyone heard or had any problems with rear suspension noise? My passenger rear tire consistently makes a "loose lumber" sound. This happens only when going over slight variances in road conditions (small pumps or ripples) and not when all four tires take a hit from a bump. In other words - it happens pretty much all the time. ITS DRIVING ME CRAZY!! I thought it might be a bad strut or strut bushing but the dealer stated everything looked fine. I'm not sure how much confidence I had in that specific dealer so a second opinion may be necessary. PLEASE advise if you have any insight....

I think I have the same thing - a "thunk" when going over small imperfections at slower speeds. Most definitely coming from the passenger side rear.

Are there any updates to this post? I have a 2009 G8/GT that is making the same type noise in the rear suspension, passenger side. And, the dealership CANNOT find anything wrong with it. The noise happens periodically and the dealership has been unable to hear it when it is there onsite. And, it seems to happen more often when the rear right tire hits an imperfection in the road. However, the noise disappears after a couple of miles. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm having the exact same noise in my 09 GT as well, the car only has 1000 miles on it. I have taken it to the dealer and they can hear the noise but they do not know where it is coming from. They asked me to drive it some more until the noise gets worse (about two weeks ago) and with the weather getting colder the noise is getting more pronounced. It sounds like a shock that is broken internally, the tech at the dealership agrees with me. The tech tried some sort of listening sensor thing but it couldn't peg where the noise was coming from. Now that is has gotten worse I'll be taking it in next Tuesday (15 Dec). I'll let you know what they say...
