Hi all

I am new here and this site is a nice resource for me now. I've been driving several impala SS's since 2005 and I was going to pull the trigger on the camaro SS but I decided to source a G8. I liked the G8 when it first came out but I was in a lease. I see VERY Few G8 GT's /w color and options I want in my area. (About 12 in a 250mile raidus of NYC). Any suggestions as what I should look for as for problems or such when I go check them out at the dealers? I am new to the G8.. I'm reading up on the forums as fast as I can though :)

Check that any recalls have been done and listen for any noise in the front-end during the test drive. Some issues in cold weather states on some front end parts when introduced. I guess Australia does not get North East/ Canada cold.

They are great cars.
I am also in the market for an 09 Pontiac G8 GT. I have seen a couple at the dealerships online sites, but have not gone in and actually looked at it. I have been trying to do my homework and read up on G8 before I actually pull the trigger. Other cars I have been considering is the 09 challenger R/T and 09 Cadillac CTS. I feel like I can get everything I want in the G8 GT even getting it at a descent price. I currently drive an 01 Dodge Durango
with about 115,000 miles, but the more I see and read about the G8 the more I want it. Any advise?
The performance I get from my GT is everything I could ever ask for and more. Without a doubt the car will do everything that it professes to do in its specs. 0 to 100 and the quarter mile without a problem. I reside in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and had a hard time getting my hands on one but finally through a buddy at a local dealership was able to locate one in Detroit. Had it shipped here and and the rest is history. I have always been an advocate of true American muscle and the G8 GT lives up to all the expectations one could have for a car in this day and age. Long story short, if you can get your hands on one of these gems, scoop it up. It is really unfortunate that they are no longer in production.
I did my research online comparing many different sports sedan, SUV's, and sports cars. I chose Pontiac G8 GT about 6 months ago and I love it. I own the 2009 Pontiac G8 GT with the sport package and the luxury package. It's Spice Red with a black leather interior, and it has 19K miles on it. As an FSU graduate I have the garnet & gold FSU license plate on the back which matches the spice red perfectly. Go Noles! The G8 GT is a sexy beast! I get compliments on it all the time.

They are rare so expand your search for the vehicle. The best sites are Cars.com and Autotrader.com. I found mine through Autotrader.com at a dealership in Lakeland, Fl about 45 minutes from where I live. Make sure you get the 2 packages I mentioned on the vehicle. Hint: While shopping online and looking at pictures, if the vehicle has leather interior or heated seats then you have the luxury package. If it has 19" rims or you can see aluminum brake & gas pedals in the pictures then it has the sport package.
