UPDATED April 17, 2015

It's hard to believe that I started tracking all of this all the way back in 2009! The current information is based on 1,829 GXPs verified, which is 100% of overall production of 1,829, FINALLY! First I need to give a HUGE THANK YOU to Greg from PacePerformance. I couldn't have gotten this far without his help! THANK YOU! The list includes 9 GXPs converted to GXP Firehawks by SLP (we originally thought there were 10 but the GXP Firehawk pilot car started life as a GT based on it's VIN). I am pleased that final numbers come pretty close to my early projections. I am also happy that we can now prove that there were more automatic GXPs built than manuals, as I and a number of others strongly suspected. Car & Driver stated that only about 800 manual transmission GXPs were produced, which means about 44%, and they were pretty darn close (I show 846 at this point for 46.25%). So here is the complete data:

Sunroof equipped 1,464 (80.04%)
No Sunroof 365 (19.96%)

Onyx Interior 1,255 (68.62%)
Onyx/Red Interior 574 (31.38%)

Automatic 983 (53.75%)
Manual 846 (46.25%)

Bridgestone Potenza Tires 1087 (59.43%)
Goodyear RS-A Tires 741 (40.51%)
Unknown 1 (.06%)

The color breakdown is as follows:

PBM 470 (99.78% of the total 471 built)
LR 377 (100% of the total 377 built)
MSM 333 (99.71% of the total 334 built)
WH 299 (100% of the total 299 built)
SRM 171 (101.18% of the total 169 built*) *This requires some explanation. Early reliable reports stated
MGM 78 (100% of the total 78 built) 169 SRM GXPs, but we have 171 confirmed VINs.
SBM 56 (100% of the total 56 built)
PSM 45 (100% of the total 45 built)

Overall Breakdown By Option Combination:

Sorry that it has been so long, but I just updated Post #1 again. We are now up to just over 20% of overall production verified, with 378 GXPs on the list. If you own a GXP, and haven't sent me a PM with your cars stats (color, transmission, interior color, sunroof status), please do, and I will add you.

Well folks, at long last, thread #1 is updated with the complete stats of all 1,829 GXPs ever produced. I am now compiling all of my handwritten notes into an Excel spreadsheet, and I will use that to launch the G8 GXP Registry website. Watch for details to come! Until then, hope you enjoy the info! If you own a GXP, and have not contacted me before, please PM me with the last 4 of your VIN, and the state that the car is located in so I can document it to make the Registry as complete as possible. Thank you!

Well folks, the statistics thread is current with all 1,829 GXPs built on it. Now I am trying to match the individual cars up with their owners, and the state they are located in. I currently have 348 owners matched up (just over 19%), and I have the location state/province for 387 GXPs (just over 21%). I have sent out plenty of PMs to individual owners asking for the last 4 of their VIN and their location, and I'm waiting to hear back from a number of them. If any of you are reluctant for privacy reasons, please drop me a PM. I have a number of owners who have only provided the info on the condition of strict privacy, and I am honoring that. The Registry will not list any owner's names or screen names. It will only list the last part of the VIN, the configuration, and the state/province of last known location (just so we know where the greatest concentrations of GXPs are). I will not share any private details whatsoever. If someone has a legitimate need for information, I will get their info, and provide it to the owner (they can choose to respond to answer or ignore as they wish).

If you don't think that you have posted your last 4 of VIN or location state, PLEASE drop me a PM with those details. I would like to get as complete of data as possible together before launching the website.

Thank You!

Thank you to those who have been dropping me PMs with the info on your GXP. We are now up to 355 cars confirmed with owner (19.41% of total), and 399 cars confirmed with current/most recent state/province (21.82%). I hope to keep this total climbing, so please keep sending your PMs and info!

Thanks,
Joe

My MSM A6 Onyx Sunroof was born in October 2008, with VIN number ending in 300747. I took delivery on Feb. 24th, 2009, in Palm Harbor, FL - watched it back off the truck!!! Have pictures with all the plastic on the car. Have tried to contact Pontiac as to which G8 GXP built was mine. NO help from them. See where some of the posts state there car is #XXX of 1829 - I know about the 1829 and how many are what color, but how does someone know their actual number? Thanks

I just needed to post that I had to make a minor adjustment to the information in Post #1. I discovered a discrepancy with the interior color of 1 of the GXPs on the list. One of my lists had this car with a onyx/red interior, but I was able to confirm with the owner that it is an onyx interior from the factory. This resulted in an adjustment for anyone that owns a LR A6 Sunroof GXP. There are actually 81 of them with an onyx interior (I had listed 80), and there are 78 of them with an onyx/red interior. If you have a LR A6 Onyx Sunroof GXP with a VIN below 9L300869, your sequence number is unaffected (there are 8 cars that are unaffected). Otherwise you need to add 1 to your sequence number. Drop me a PM if you have questions. If you have a LR A6 Onyx/Red Sunroof GXP with a VIN below 9L300882, your sequence number is unaffected (there are 9 cars that are unaffected). Otherwise you need to subtract 1 from your sequence number. Again, drop me a PM if you have questions.

This is the first discrepancy that I have found since completing the list, which isn't bad, but I'm sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

John, thanks for posting your info. I usually respond back in a PM, but since you posted this in the thread, I will respond to show the info that is available to other GXP owners.

You are the owner of GXP #188 of the 1829 that were produced, and it was built on 10/30/2008. Your car is also #9 of a total of 74 GXPs that were built in that configuration. Unfortunately, I have no other details on your car from past tracking. I hope this info is helpful!
