Volant CAI install and check engine light

Installed a Volant on my buddies '09 G8 GT, reset computer, check engine light came on. Pulled codes and did not write them down (he had to leave) and HP Tuners said they were all MAF related.

I checked all tubing, no leaks. Cleared codes, ran like crap, disoconnected battery, Check engine light back on, ran fine. Car must be running in an open loop mode.

Do Volant CAI require a tune? Is it happening on some but not others? Please advise, did a search before posting but really didn't yield anything useful after running different combinations of the issue. Thanks.

I had no issues w/ mine. Installed in less than an hour, and never threw a code. Check out my custom cover I had made for it. Has not been tuned yet. Just Solo cat back right now.
