Default iPod Front Aux advice

When plugging in your iPod into the Front Aux, do not use a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable directly into the headset jack on the iPod. The sound quality out of the 3.5mm on the iPod is only good enough for headphones, not for a stereo system. Instead, use an adapter that plugs into the iPod's main connector with a 3.5mm plug in built into it. When you do this, 100% of the audio control is now managed by the stereo system itself. (Your iPod audio settings are outright ignored, which is a good thing when plugging into a stereo.) I use this charger/iPod interface cable: Monster Cable. I've been using it now for a couple of months with no issues.

The quality of the 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable also affects the quality. I'm using this cable, but don't necessarily recommend it: Belkin 3.5mm. I bought this at the Apple store, but now that I see the online prices I wish I waited.

I know it has been awhile since this was posted but it is of interest to me. When looking at the link to the adapter, it looks like it has a multi-function plug on one end to go into the iPOD and the other end is for a power port to charge. How do you connect to the sound AUX input?

Default Ipod/Iphone adaptor

Kensington makes a great adaptor that includes a nifty little remote that mounts very cleanly on the steering wheel. It only charges until the battery is full, so no overcharge problems. It plugs into the cig lighter and the aux in. You can pause, go forward and back, fast forward. It is called the liquid deluxe and I found it for $39. It is a great device.

Where did you find this for $39? The best I have found is $57 at Amazon!

That's what I use on of 2009 and it fits pretty well into the aux input with minimal interferenece with the lower climate controls. Audio quality seem ok to me.
