Give us a HUD instead of that oil/battery screen

I test drove a G8 GT and the car is awesome...could use a touch more of head room, but my Grand Prix is the same way...

What the heck is up with that AWFUL looking and USELESS display in the middle of the dash for the battery and oil indicators???

Bobby Lutz - give us our HUD in this car...and I'll even drive some vette/Pontiac rivalry into this...the vette has a HUD, hell, the GMC Acadia has a hud - and the FLAGSHIP of the PONTIAC line does NOT?!

I agree, while it's important to know the oil pressure (the gauge is in bar, I am assuming instead of psi) and the battery chraging volatge, they did not need to post a billboard size panel to tell us this data.

What...there's no HUD??? WTF???? I missed that when I was checking the stuff out online.

I was supposed to look at one tonight, but my Solstice isn't finished yet. I'll check it out tomorrow. At least it's black so I won't be tempted to buy it!!

It can serve as a good spot for boost gauges for the FI guys

I agree the amount of info you get in relation to all of the screen size is pathetic. My 95 vette gives me more info on much less space than the wife's G8 GT. A HUD would have made the G8 a much better vehicle, but the use of available screen space is a travesty, but the G8 is a decent grocery getter for the wife..

Pardon my ignorance, but I have a base G8 and I have only a little rectangular cubby hole atop my center console (above the air registers). Is this where the oil and battery indicator are in the higher model cars (GT or GTP)? I was wondering if anything might go in there, it seemed a bit out of place. But from what this thread is suggesting maybe nothing is better then something!
