Default Scratched My Plastic Rear Bumper Next to Muffler Bummer!

Any info on any techniques to fix this? A mechanic, a close friend of mine, suggested a certain grade of sandpaper to even out the scratch, but what about the scratches it would leave behind? It's not too noticeable, but I love my G8 and hate that this happened. Thanks in advance.

My son paints cars for a living, he told me the same thing.. it's like a super fine grit paper -2000 or something- I play with G6 it's a cutting /wax compound.. I use a rather wet cloth and a bit of that. IT took the roughness from a touch up (fog) with no visible marks.

Unless it's just an iddy biddy teeny one, I'd try the paper.
