Here's a funny question;
I picked up my new 09 the otherday and the dealer told me they couldn't find the second key. When I went back the next day they gave me a rather large key that didn't retract like the first one. Silly me I tried to palm it off on my wife, needless to say her first question was how come I get this clunkly key and not one like yours? She works with GM dealers and is convinced that they are trying to pull a fast one and that her key is from a different car and just programmed for the G8. I think she's wrong. Can anyone shine some light on this?

To my understanding, you get one (1) retractable key, one (1) non retractable key (the clunky one) and one (1) smaller key for the door and glove box. That's what my dealer gave me for my '09 GXP. Hope this helps and congrats on the new G8. Enjoy!!

I got the retractable and 1 "ugly" key but did not get the small one...guess I need to mention this to the dealer next time I'm there...

same with me. All 3 of my keys the retractable one the non-retracable and the valet key.
