Default Headlights switch

Does everyone else's headlight switch stay in the auto position? I would rather turn on the headlights myself rather than have them automatically come on and then have to turn them off.

Too much automated stuff takes the fun out of operating and controlling any car. I guess I'm just being picky.

I think it is like that because it has daytime running lights.

I kind of agree with you on the light switch. I think automatic headlights are fine for about 90% of the public, and especially nice for those folks who somehow forget to turn their lights on at nightfall. But I don't really need that kind of nanny-care.

That being said, I do like the fact that the auto headlights on my G8 come on and go off much faster than my 2002 Chevy S-10. If I drive under a bridge in the S-10 and the lights come on, it takes about a minute or longer after getting back in the sunlight before the lights go back off.

Try to disconnect your light sensor from your headlight switch. Auto function will not work without light sensor.

Or when they come on and you dont want them on, simply turn your switch to the left to shut them off and then turn them on when you want. Just my .02
