To those of you who've eagerly awaited the launch of Pontiac's super-hot, Australia-sourced 2008 G8 sport sedan, we're pleased to announce the following: We have liftoff. The test numbers are in.

Wow, thats really impressive considering the price of this car!

Numbers coming in are pretty repetitive among the mags. Pontiac's claimed numbers are 5.3; and 13.8 @ 101. Nobody has broken 5.3 yet, but posting a 5.4 (obvious extra tire smoke) Edmunds Inside Line managed a 13.7 1/4 mile at 104 mph. Chargers look out!
