Default Another New Owner

Hello everyone, I just picked up an ignition orange v6 G8 and thought I'd pop in and say hello. I traded my 07 Solstice for the car and got a great deal on it from a dealership that GM is shutting down. Picked it up for 21,000 and got 15,000 on my base N/A solstice. I've got a little one on the way and the roadster wouldn't have worked for a kid, so I did what I had to do.

First, let me say for the record that the build quality is so much better than the Solstice cheap chunky plastic interior. The car feels so much better put together. Sure, i'll miss the way the Solstice handles, but I gained way more in utility and quality with my new G8. However, I get to take it back to the dealership tomorrow since it's throwing a P0056 code. Bad rear o2 sensor heater circuit. Oh well, still happy with my purchase....

Didn't think I'd like the color, but the more I look at it the more I like it.

Congrats on a G8 in my favorite color of all (I wish I could have gotten it on my GXP!), and welcome to the site. I have figured that a Base G8 would make an ideal "family truckster." Roomy Sedan, strong V-6 with good mpg, very good handling, and great styling. Enjoy yours and welcome!

Welcome. I traded in my 1999 Grand Prix GTP and thought that the 3800 cc six-cylinder engine was good from both a performance and economy perspective. Now that my kids are "off the payroll," I am enjoying my 2009 G8 GXP! Gotta love those Pontiacs. Wecome again.

Thumbs down

Hi all, in May I picked up a G8 GXP for my wife (birthday present) w/sunroof, auto in Magnetic Gray Metallic, all black interior. She loves the car, as do I. Right know it is all stock, but I would like to install a CAI, but I have had a bit of a bad experience on my 08 Duramax, it kept putting the truck in to reduced power mode and regenerating the DPF filter, the mfg of the intake would not admit that their intake was causing the problems 3 MAFs later I put the stock back on and have run it troble free ever since, any way I am interested in just the Yella Terra intake tube, or the roto fab complete CAI. I am not going to reprogram, I will later on put the SLP cat back ex. . I have a few questions, first has any one had any codes thrown from the CAI, and was it worth the extra$ over the Yella Terra intake tube. Also I live in western Oregon so I am concerned about water,(it seems to like to rain around here) snow getting into the Roto Fab intake. It is a bummer that GM finally make a great car only to take it away from us so soon.

Welcome wr rider! You may get more responses if you open up your own introduction thread, but I don't think others will get too upset over this thread hijack. LOL!

Thanks for including the stats for your wife's GXP. I was able to add you to the GXP Registry that I have begun. I have posted all the stats I have gathered under the "GXP Statistics Thread." You may want to check it out.
