The hold on Coupe 60 for the US market has been put on hold, right alongside any chance of a rwd Impala. New CAFE standards are the big culprit, despite GM's current ability to equal mpg in similary powered rwd and fwd vehicles where the rwd is heftier by 400#. I don't think rwd development is dead, in fact even Subaru with Toyota's help is getting into it
