I did my first change at about 1500 and went with full synthetic. Goodyear store charged me about $75. Reminder had still not come on at 12,000 so I had it changed again. The shop did not reset the reminder--it came on at 13,500. If that's OK with GM, it OK with me. They designed and built the engine and they hold the warranty.
